The Voice of The People

"Politics is a hard game especially when the people you are dealing with are free to choose between being ignorant and playing ignorant"
The frenchmen say vox populi, vox dei to mean the voice of the people is the voice of God. This phrase is or will be familiar with you when you take your time to venture into politics. It is in this phrase that future political Kings willbe reduced to a public scalawag and the platonic fools will ascend to power. The unity of the voice of God and the voice of the people is a tale that the undemocratic democrats crafted long ago to clinch power to the peoples appeal. So when they speak or shout, there is always a chance that God's voice is repressed.
There is a common aristotelian dictum that 'man is a political animal', so true it can be some times that the tag 'political' almost becomes insignificant in the whole phrase. At such a time, all women and men alike are reduced to mere animals. So they will bark like dogs, roar like lions and dance like squirrels. It is in this political air that enemies are made and friends are forged. Woe unto you if you are not the voice of the people, the tribal endorsement and sectarian politics will be your worst nightmare. they will criticise your every effort and tag you all names. how you will balance your head in shame when even your own roommate is not on your sid.
I once thought that university political platforms were characterised by people whose voices would reflect the very best that deemed to be. however, it is surprising to realise that the stomach can sometimes show the peoples direction. how they will cling upon the coats of aspirants like pests, sucking them to the last drop.
How they will pretend in your prescence, shouting and carrying you in the air with hidden demands that after that a plate of meat and abootle of beer is on their table. the politically excited second years will jump and kick in the air; the averagely mature third year will confuse you with strategy tales while self proclaimed elders will intimidate you with their roles at SEC. When you lie down to sleep, a smile can easily transform into a soft cry.
Politics is a hard game, especially when the people you are dealing with are free to choose between being ignorant and playing ignorant. I know of people whohad been fooled into thinking they were the peoples choice only to be judged as thieves and harlots. I also know of those who shunned tribal endorsment only to carry the day in the crossfire.
time has changed, the brains of the people rest where their mouths are. the power of tea workd much better than the power of an empty plea. Gone are the days of the voices of Mwamburi and Dikembe; when crossfires and kamkunjis were decisive. today, goons carry the day. they can decide to drink your bottles and rabidly throw insults at you and support your opponents, you never know.
The voice of the people may never call your name, but it may not necessarily translate that the voice of God does not prefer you. Termites have brought temples down and God remains silent all the while. The voice of a drunken goon is, by all means the voice of odd.
